J woke up at 6am today!!!!!!!

I had to force him to take an afternoon nap because I could see his eyes were drooping. There were lots of crying!! He did not want to sleep.
He took 1hr 10m to fall asleep!
He slept for an hour.

What is this face?

This is his finished work.
We were doing some simple activities on "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book.

This is another way to reinforce him on new words.
Let's be creative!!
No, he might not remember the word "caterpillar" the next time I show him the word card, but he had fun, and I think that's very important too.

J said he cried today at school when he was threading a string in the caterpillar book and a boy said he is slow.

These are one of the sources to support me making more educational AND fun activities for the little ones:

J is doing #theveryhungrycaterpillar book in school.  I made an activity for him to play and learn. . J has to place the correct food that the caterpillar ate according to the days of the week.  In this activity, he learns to refer to his book to remind him especially when he gets to Saturday , of which everyone knows, the caterpillar ate a lot of food on that day! It also helps to reinforce learning the days of the week. . #happymindswithbusma #veryhungrycaterpillar #handmadeeducationalproduct #homeeducation #learningactivities #handmadegames #earlylearning  #littlelearners  #creativemom #creativegames #playdiscovercreate #getcreativewith #creativechildhood #funlearningathome #learningthroughplay #playbasedlearning #learnwithjulianng #toddlerplay #toddleractivities #preschoolerlife #julianng #hkkids #hkmom #852mama #hkmama #hongkongmama #hkigmom #sassymamahk #mylittlesteps

J woke up at 1:30am crying, he said he had a dream.
It was in our living room.
A huge mosquito was sucking him. There were several other mosquitos crawling on the floor.
I was in the kitchen.
There were Teacher Lee and another boy in the living room with him.

Poor J, it took him a long time to go back to sleep.

Because we had a bad night and that he has a swimming class in the afternoon, I insisted him to take a nap.
He refused and whined for quite a while. He stopped taking a nap since around 2 years old.
But luckily at the end I made him sleep for an hour.
I was just worried that he would whine a lot in the swimming class or get super tired after the class.

Very happy little boy getting ready for swimming class:

I love his answer!

We stayed home after school.

I set up some messy play for J to play:

Lots of clean up to do!

Sunday 6 May 2018

I mixed up the numbers 1-40 on the magnetic board and asked J to put them in order:

Learn number words in English and Chinese with a wanton container! . The minute I opened the packet of wanton and saw the container, I immediately fell in love with it. I knew I can save it for some fun games for J. . The game is simple! Use the wooden stick to pick up the colourful word paper and place them in the correct numbered comparment. . The wooden stick with a #blutak serves as a "tool" for J, so a bit special than just picking up with his fingers. . I did not glue the circular discs on to the container, but instead I used magnets. Extra work but totally worth it. The advantage of uing magnets is that I can easily change the circular discs into another topic, for example, learning sight words. . #happymindswithbusma #handmadeeducationalproduct #homeeducation #learningactivities #handmadegames #earlylearning  #littlelearners  #creativemom #creativegames #playdiscovercreate #getcreativewith #creativechildhood #simpleisthebest #funlearningathome #learningthroughplay #playbasedlearning #toddlerplay #toddleractivities #preschoolerlife #homeschool #recycleintofun #recycle #hkmum #sassymamahk #mylittlesteps #852mama #hkigmom #hkmama #mamahk
